Buy a domiciliary care agency in the UK

Domiciliary care is people, not property: 43 employees on average and barely a quarter own premises, because the work happens in the client’s home.

Figures read from the register data as at 20 August 2026.

What the Care Quality Commission registration means

Agencies providing personal care in someone’s own home must register with the Care Quality Commission. The registration names the provider and the office it operates from, and the CQC inspects and publishes an outcome.

Why buyers look here

Headcount is the asset. These are the largest employers on the platform outside food processing, and the youngest sector in care at ten years average trading. Local authority and NHS contracts dominate revenue and are invisible on any public register, which is why diligence here is a conversation, not a search.

What to check

How to search

Choose Domiciliary care on the search screen and narrow by town, how long the business has traded, how ownership is held, and whether the premises are traceable. Searching is free and shows the shape of each company without naming it. A report on one company costs from £4.90.
