Buy a dental practice in the UK

Dental practices are small by headcount and large by value: around ten staff on average, and more than half own the premises they work from.

Figures read from the register data as at 20 August 2026.

What the Care Quality Commission registration means

Dental practices in England register with the Care Quality Commission as providers of regulated activity. The registration names the provider and the location, so it identifies both who runs the practice and where it operates.

Why buyers look here

Practice sales are an established market with active buyers, and demand from corporates and from associates buying their first practice runs at the same time. A practice that owns its freehold is a materially different proposition from one on a lease.

How to search

Choose Dental on the search screen and narrow by town, how long the business has traded, how ownership is held, and whether the premises are traceable. Searching is free and shows the shape of each company without naming it. A report on one company costs from £4.90.
